well then
So that's that. The con is over. And what a con it was.
My Twitter is the best place to get a run down of how the weekend went. I've never texted/twittered so much ever. I didn't even intend to before I went, either, but then I found a rythym that seemed to work so I went with it. You can tell I ran out of steam near the end of today, though. OH! And! If anyone needs anything clarified please just ask. 140 characters isn`t a lot to get points across, especially when people are telling whole stories. I also mangled a few words and things so feel free to ask me what the hell I meant on certain parts. I might not get it totally right, but I`ll try!
The con wasn't 100% perfect but it wasn't a disaster, either. I noticed things that could have been better (communication and the staff not being snappish at each other were a couple) but it could have been a LOT worse so I'm happy.
I'm disappointed that Jared didn't get a solo panel but I understand why it happened and sometimes shit just happens. I'm just happy I got to meet Jared and Jensen at all and that we got to see what we did.
EVERYONE who was at that con--from the celebs, to the fans, to the staff--were awesome. There's always a couple rotten apples, of course, but for the most part it was enjoyable.
I think Aldis Hodge might have been my fave guest but I don't know. I loved Alona, too, even though she was quick to point out (three times, I think) that she's not bitter about how the show went.
The whole PETA thing was bullshit. I don't care what justification people have for that fuckery but if you want to call someone out on something they obviously care SO MUCH about, do it in a professional, civilised way and write them a goddamn letter. Hell, even start a petition on the internet or some shit asking them to pay attention. I don't care. Just don't stand up at a fun event (for us, for them it's WORK) and call them out on something like that. Attention: you has it. Now go away.
I have TONNES of pictures (maybe close to 2000?) but, genius that I am, I brought my new camera to the con and forgot the cord I need to load them onto the computer. So I'll see about those in the next couple of days. They won't be as awesome as the ones people got from the closer rows, that's for sure, but I think mine should be okay. I hope, anyway.
Going home tomorrow and SO happy about it. It's been awesome, don't get me wrong, but I'm fucking exhausted. I want to sleep in my own bed and not have to be up for an hour trip somewhere.
