This week hasn't been nearly as bad as last week was but I'm still happy to see the weekend. Especially since it's a long one! The premier out here decided it was too long to go from Christmas to Easter break without a holiday so he made one in February.
I'm watching Pulse 2 and Pulse 3 right now. Even though it was bad I liked Pulse with Kristen Bell and Ian but this is the first I've seen of the second and third ones. They're... really not good. God I love bad movies.
Also, made plans for an Oscar party when they air in March. By party I mean three friends (maybe more but three for sure) are coming over but that'll be fun all the same. Might go to Value Village to find something cheap and fancy (perhaps a discarded bride's maid dress? in fushia, even?) so I can attempt Oscar glam. I'm stupidly excited for this, honestly.
Finally! I've now launched

LOVED this episode. Of COURSE it's ending on a cliffhanger since it won't be back until MARCH 25 (LAME LAME LAME! That's even after Gossip Girl and Melrose Place in a couple weeks!
I think the only thing I didn't like as well in this episode was the Matt/Caroline story that tried to weave into the rest of things. The only reason I say this is because I wasn't a huge believer that Matt freaked out like he did over Caroline wanting to hold his hand.
I know they've both had problems with their relationship since they grew up together and had pre-conceived notions of each other, but that Matt went from liking her to being unsure about her to being okay with her again, in contrast to everything else in the episode was just a touch off balance for me. But I really enjoy their interaction.
So often now I look at Ian Somerhalder as Damon and I find he looks like Gale Harold from Queer as Folk. I want to find pictures/caps of him and do a comparison of their looks. This similarity in my mind has made me more attracted to Ian.
I really hope that when Katherine is introduced into the storyline that they make her truly badass. As I said last week (although I think I called her Elena so it might have been confusing as to what I was getting at) I find that so far she has been portrayed as spoiled and entitled, more than anything. I haven't seen anything to make her really feared and that's what I want.
In the books she didn't have that big a part, that I can remember, but she was powerful and that's what made her dangeous. But the show has the chance to really flesh her out and SHOW her being evil.
I hope they don't make Damon mope around too much in the next eps, though. I know they won't but it's one thing for him to be upset right now but it's another to have him go rather Dawson's Creek for more than half an episode or so.
ANYWAY. At this point I'm talking out my ass and don't know quite what point I want to make. I wish there weren't a hiatus but I STILL haven't re-watched all the eps yet (or any of them) so this should give me time to get back through all the eps I didn't pay much attention to.

Love Candice's eyes here.

Don't mess with this HBIC.

Eh. I can't tell if I like her more in this ep or not.

Would have liked to have seen Stefan being invited into the house.

I haven't really found Jeremy all that attractive in the past but with the hat on I thought he was pretty cute.

Matt, however, got all scrunch-faced.

Stefan's all mater-of-fact here. Just like, okay. I got some shit to do here. And now it's done.

I really liked Damon's expression when Elena ran up here.

Truth be told I don't have too many problems with product placement in a show. It's not ideal, sure, but if it provides the show with the money they need to keep going... well, okay. It's pretty blatant here, and it always makes me toll my eyes when it happens (like in Alias when Sydney would be in a bitchin' car chase in like, a Chevy Aveo or some shit, I don't know. I'm sure some people saw this and have heard of Bing before and are trying it out now because commercials don't reach some of the masses anymore. We've been trained to ignore them now so working products into TV shows is rather mutually beneficial. Too much of it and the show sells out. Double edged and all. /mini-thesis
That Anna only wanted her mom back was pretty sweet, I have to admit. I wish she'd been able to say more about what Katherine was like and why she didn't like her. I'm sure it'll all come out in good time, or at least I hope it will. Again, Anna just made her sound like she only wanted to play with people and fuck with their heads, not be an evil bitch.

Someone called this based on some promo pics, but probably not in the way they thought it would go down. Sad, though. I liked Jasmine Guy in this role.
