I don't have much to say on the LJ thing. I'm personally not upset over not being able to create basic accounts but I totally understand why other people are. I AM pissed off that they're hiding their reasons behind bullshit excuses and treating everyone like they're retarded puppies that eat their own shit or something. Bad analogy, but whatever. Y'all get the point. I wouldn't have a problem at all with any of it if they'd only said, upfront and honest, 'this is a money thing. We keep the costs as they are and give the features we do to unpaid users through advertising and that's why we're eliminating basic accounts.' I probably wouldn't have liked it but at least they would have said what they mean and stood by it, you know? That's my biggest beef with the LJ heads right now--they hide behind thinly veiled statements and double speak all the time when they could just be HONEST. Say it straight out, we can take it!
Oh, and someone posted the mailing addresses of people from LJ to contact about this, if you're so inclined, here. It includes a mailing address for the butthead who's been spouting off company schlock in the news posts.
I'll have Sex and the City trailer and possibly some 300 caps tomorrow.
