Mar. 7th, 2010 02:21 pm-- It's gorgeous outside again today. 12 degrees, kids are skateboarding down the sidewalk, they're down at the skate ramps, people are out walking, sunbathing, etc. GORGEOUS.
-- I'm having the Oscar get togeher tonight (good time to have it, right? On Oscar night :P) so people are going to swing by in a couple hours.
-- I booked my car for when I go home. It's a bit of a unecessary expense for the time I'm there except that I'm surprising my mom for when I go home and showing up a day early and I'm leaving at like- 12am the night I leave and I'm flying in 4 hours from home so my mom doesn't have to worry about any of that stuff. I have to find somewhere new to stay because where I thought I'd be able to crash has fallen through and that upset me a bit. Both because of the extra expense and because I thought I might be able to stay with friends who I doubt I'll see otherwise now. Just gottan roll with the punches, I guess.

I believe I have successfully changed over all the links in every post to the new website so my caps will actually, you know, show up now and people can dl them. Seriously, if you start or end your post with, "if this isn't allowed the mods are free to delete" or some form of that, YOUR POST WILL BE FUCKING DELETED.
Take a chance and message one of the mods first to see if it's kosher to post something OT in the comm! Or JUST DON'T DO IT! It's ignorant and makes the mods think you're too stupid to read the rules.
Ugh.
On another note, I'm not watching the Canada/USA game because it's just TOO MUCH PRESSURE and I have this weird thing where if I watch I think we're not going to win. So I'll tune in every so often to check but otherwise stay the fuck away. Plus, the family is watching downstairs so I can hear them commenting/cheering the game. It's the next best thing to watching.

This week hasn't been nearly as bad as last week was but I'm still happy to see the weekend. Especially since it's a long one! The premier out here decided it was too long to go from Christmas to Easter break without a holiday so he made one in February.
I'm watching Pulse 2 and Pulse 3 right now. Even though it was bad I liked Pulse with Kristen Bell and Ian but this is the first I've seen of the second and third ones. They're... really not good. God I love bad movies.
Also, made plans for an Oscar party when they air in March. By party I mean three friends (maybe more but three for sure) are coming over but that'll be fun all the same. Might go to Value Village to find something cheap and fancy (perhaps a discarded bride's maid dress? in fushia, even?) so I can attempt Oscar glam. I'm stupidly excited for this, honestly.

Work this week makes me want to scratch people's eyes out, then do the macarena on them. I don't know how I knew the week was going to be the shits at the start but I did somehow and it's dragged on forever. That tomorrow is Friday is a miracle.
I got some goodish news about my accident.., *waves hands* stuff. My lawyer has decided to pursue the two claims seperately, so I could see a payout from the first one as early as next week. And it's going to be more than I expected so I'm kinda jazzed. I mean, it sucks that I'm getting money as a result of being rear ended and all but it's money that I could really use right now. The second (and far worse) accident probably won't be resolved for quiet a while longer. I'm still in quite a bit of pain and taking pain killers almost every day. So. I'm happy at least one of them is being put to rest. That's that.
I bought my plane ticket home for next month. I haven't bought the return yet, though, because the tickets were a bit too pricey (got the one there on wicked seat sale) and my credit card needs a bit of recovery first (which is why the money from the accident settlement is coming JUST IN TIME).
Finally, this will serve as an official "Hi there, and hello!" to my new friends from this The Vampire Diaries friending meme. Let me take this moment for shameless promotion:tvd_tv! It's kinda slow and I haven't done much with it as yet but let's see what happens! AND AND AND!!! good_tvd_icons! Please watch, join and spread the word on this one!

Question. is there a place (community or otherwise) to get really great hires promos and images from the show and cast? I've been spoiled by other shows (like SPN) with the comms and sites that provide photoshoots and episode stills in freakish sizes. A lot of the stuff I've come across so far has been medium res, at best. If anyone knows of anywhere I could get nice sized images that would be great. PM me if it's on the DL.

111 and 112 were capped okay but I tried to get a conversion programme for the caps that didn't turn out to work that well. I went back to the one I had on my old computer, I just didn't want it this time because it was bigger than I needed. But this one does a far better job. I might, someday, go back to reconvert the caps from 111 and 112 but for now they'll have to stay in huge file sizes. Lame.

I don't know if anything would come of this or if I'd be able to get it off the ground but would anyone be interested in a rather impromptu, more casual RPS/F holiday exchange? Any fandom, crossovers welcome and encouraged, etc?
I don't have any firm idea about this so I'm just wondering. Ideas? Takers?

Holy ballsac, y'all. I'm watching the remake of Day of the Dead and it's SO BAD. I'm only a half hour in and it's terrible. I know some people don't put much stock into zombie movies but I LOOOOOOOOOVE them and after the remake of Dawn of the Dead in 2004 (which is SO AWESOME OMG) I was jazzed to hear about this one. But, as it turns out, not so much with this one after all. For example ( stylistic choice spoiler ) Mena Suvari doesn't inspire much confidence in me as an army official.
This isn't an official new community announcement butgood_cw_icons will be open like- any second. spuzz and I are mods right now but I'll need a third to balance the application post properly. If you're interested leave a comment and we can talk.

I've seen some people use my icons and resources without commenting, although some people credit, and I have to admit, it bothers me to some extent because it's nice to know who's using your stuff, you know? I, personally, ALWAYS comment and credit whenever I take anything so I'm curious to what other people think and where they stand on the commenting/crediting thing. Is it akin to reading a fic and not leaving a comment? Or is it something else?
There's no judgment here with any of your answers, obvs, I'm just really, seriously interested about the answers.

momentofglee will remain open to browsing and whatnot and no posts are being deleted but new posts will be made at morbid_girls. So if you want to stay on track of icons/tutorials and the like, have momentofglee friended, or just want to watch an icon community- please friend morbid_girls. There are already some really nifty posts there, like our resources and post/tutorial guides (I was inspired by clearthe_area).
So, in conclusion:

Can someone do a quick beta of the Sam/Dean/John that I've been working on for awhile and is for my Sweet Charity person from JUNE?! It's already been beta'd once but I'd like a second opinion. Less than 5000 words and I'd really like to get it done and posted as soon as possible. And if anyone wants to look over the Ruby and Bela that's kinda Ruby/Bela-ish I have, they're welcome. I've already had it beta'd by the lovelymissyjack but I was hoping for a second opinion before I posted it soon.

I broke 16,000 on my BigBang last night with no end in sight. I'm trying to come up with some sort of soundtrack right now so I can throw myself into the rest of it in the right frame of mind. I think part of the problem is that I don't feel I know the characters. I had the plot all laid out before I started writing so I figured it would be easy-peasy to get it all down and said like I planned but BECAUSE I know what's going to happen I don't have to get to know the characters. Does that make sense? So I'm hoping that if I can come up with some songs to loop while I write it might help me make everything gel better.
