Packing packing packing. Well, trying to, anyway. I cleaned the stove this morning (first time in my life) and I enjoyed it. I actually like cleaning, when I'm in the mood. So that's done.

I'm going to pack up a lot of the kitchen stuff and some of my food before the weekend is over and then tomorrow I'll call one of my landlords and ask if I can start moving stuff if over the course of the week just to make it that much easier next weekend when I move my big stuff over. Unless I can do it earlier. Then I just have to vacuum this place and scrub the floor and wipe out the fridge. I haven't been here long enough to make too much of a mess and, honestly, I don't think my landlord would even notice if I didn't do half of that.

My main goal is just to get at least the majority of my stuff set up and put away in the new house before my mom gets here just so there's not two of us trying to move in together at the same time. We also have to get the utilities set up and I have to get my tenant's insurance changed over to the new address. Actually--just called and left a message with my broker. Solved that.

Gracie kinda knows something is happening but she's coping well. So far, anyway. I know she'll be fine. Once she's at the house for a day she won't know any different. It'll just be more room for her to run around in.

Sadly the food was probably the most exciting part of the day(s) for me. Which might actually be a good thing, seeing as how I get horribly depressed normally during the holidays. Tonight I'm feeling some anxiety over the gifts thing as I mentioned above but generally I'm feeling very flat. I guess that's the pills working for me. It hasn't felt like Christmas to start with but now that it's all over I can't believe it even happened. This morning before I even arrived at the house I wondered why we were even celebrating at all, to be honest.

So while I'm not super upset right now, I'm also little more than despondant over the whole holiday thing. I'm just as pleased to take a nap, get up ridiculously early to do some boxing day shopping (for nothing in particular, it's more the novelty of it all that I'm still amused by), get some groceries so I don't have to go out for two days and come home to sleep. The end.

It's a gorgeous day. I ate my breakfast while reading the paper on the front deck. It's not done but there's a roof, plywood for a floor and chairs. Good enough. Just had a storm start up really quickly, had about a minute of hail while it was still sunny, with some thunder and then it was over.

Been watching Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip for the past week or so. I watched it when it first started but I lost interest quickly. I still liked it but I didn't care enough about it to keep watching. Now that I'm watching everything that aired I remember why I liked it but I can see why it was cancelled. It was very disjointed and there wasn't and there wasn't a solid, overall coherant storyline to link everything together. Just bits and pieces here and there.

It's a gorgeous day here, finally. There are menfolk on the roof, putting down new shingles and I finally have a window again. It's weird how quickly you gets used ot change without realizing it. Now that I have the window back it's a little weird but I love it. I can finally see out. I missed the leaves growing fuller on the trees over the past few weeks and it's now almost totally summer.

It is SO frustrating how long it takes for my caps to upload on a Saturday.

Saw the ( A-Team last night --no really big spoilers )

I watched and capped "Vincent and the Doctor" last week but I didn't have time to sort and upload them as I was having people over. It's been a week so I won't cut my reactions to it.

LOVED IT. It was a gorgeous episode that made me cry and from the few episode reactions I saw afterwards I gather that was the general concensus from most viewers.

The story was awesome and I felt bad for the monster, as well as Van Gogh. The ending was simply wonderful and all the characters were fun and light and melancholy. The colouring on the episode was also wonderful. The graphics I've seen come out of the episode have been lovely.

The time of day has no meaning when you have no light coming through your non-existant window. It's 3:30pm but for all I know it's midnight because that's what it feels like in my room. Ugh. I hope the windows come sooner, rather than later. If they're delayed I'll grumble profusely. I'm in an annoyed-at-family mood today. Wonderful. I tried to not be but it's a futile effort.

I did get my eyebrow pierced yesterday.

pipry23 came with me (well, tbh. she didn't have much of a choice, LOL) and then we had AMAZING Mexican food and watched movies and fun times were had by all. I want to go have Mexican again today, it was so good. Damn.

What a far cry from last week. It's been pretty nice all week, up into the almost-30's, but today is cold and rainy, and I think we even had some snow mixed in with the wet. Ugh. As a result the dining room is leaking. AGAIN. But it can't be fixed until the roof is re-done and we can't re-do the roof until we get the trusses for the new deck? And the siding can't be done until the windows come in and so forth. So right now we're waiting while the fucking house damn-near disintegrates around us. Pleasant.

ANYWAY. LONG WEEKEND! Woo! Very excited about that. It hasn't been a bad day at work but because it's been so nice I just want to do dick all, which is going to catch up with us quickly, seeing as how we're slacking on some of our work. Eh. BUT BUT BUT! In two months I'll be in NYC, so I don't give a fuck right now! WOO!

Gorgeous, gorgeous day. And I've done pretty much nothing for all of it so far. We to brunch with a friend, then came home and watched the ep. Love it.

The family is working on the deck for the front which involves removing all the siding so they can re-side the house (as well as re-roof) and the sound of the drill and whatnot is making me sleeeeeeepy. I might take a nap! [ETA] Well, I would have if the uploads hadn't taken an eternity.

The snow has finally stopped. I think. I see there might be some rain for tomorrow but maybe it won't come. Maybe Mother Nature will realize we've had enough and bypass us. It's weird out here with the weather. It's the sunniest place in Canada so we rarely get any rain. When we get it and it lasts more than a rainstorm or a day or so people start getting stir crazy and think we're drowning. Whereas where I'm from last summer they had 21 days of rain straight and it's just a normal thing. It's annoying when it goes on for that long but we'll get rain for a few days at a time, generally, before the system moves out. Here people think the world is ending or something.

The roof has stopped leaking for now, from what I can tell. I don't know what the plan is with it or what the family intends to do. I'm probably wise to avoid asking about it just yet. The washer seems to be okay? I don't even know. The aunt told me last night that she never sets it to final spin and just takes the shit out of the washer. I'm like, but that's part of the cycle. It's why washers HAVE a final spin. And since I hang half my shit it would be nice to wring more moisture out of them so they don't take as long to dry. She's called a repair man for it but she should have called months ago when the washer was having the original problem.

It's been gorgeous here all weekend, which is a far cry from the week we had with a "blizzard" (would never be called that back home) that actually shut down the city an hour+ away & put it into a state of emergency. This province has no idea how to handle snow. So funny.

Had a small party last night as a going away thing for one of the girls we worked with. We played Headbanz and it was hysterical. Too bad we went through all the cards but I guess you can play them over and over. Today I'm super tired and just want to take a nap but it's too late in the afternoon and I don't want to disrupt my sleep tonight. .... MMM, I might still anyway.

pipry23 and it's awesome. I was re-watching them awile ago but I wasn't paying close-CLOSE attention so I'm getting a lot more out of them. She is also LOVING the show so it's infectious and makes the show that much more fun. Haven't seen it? TRY IT!

I'm back home. It was a long-ass day yesterday but I made it. Took a shower almost ASAP when I got here and it was the best thing ever. I was only gone a week and a half or so but it feels like I was gone for seventeen years. Everything feels a little off after being home again. But everything felt off there, too. So I don't know.

It was hard to say goodbye to my mom but less hard than it's been in the past. I don't know if I'm going to have some sort of homesick crash or something but we'll see how that goes. I start back at work tomorrow so I get right back into the swing of things. Hopefully I'll just get right back into a routine and I won't have time to think about anything too sad. Today we're doing Easter dinner here (the holiday is NOT a big thing in my family, we just have a meal) so I have that to distract me and I have to do grocery shopping to fill up for the week. And tonight I think some of the group are going to a movie.

And I have TV to help me through all that! I just watched the new Who and I have 2 eps of Project Runway to watch, although I spoiled myself for what happened while I was home. I also watched the two eps of The Vampire Diaries while I was home but I KNOW I missed things since I watched with mom and I'm going to cap them.

I'm rewatching What I Like About You and the first season is so funny! I have the rest of the seasons downloaded because they haven't been release on dvd yet (which blows!) so I'll be watching those next. I did a full re-watch of Doctor Who last week so I feel weird not watching something on dvd now.

I can only hope that this week at work is just a little bit better than last week was. It was so flat-out busy and irritating and bad and UGH. It could have been way worse but it was still pretty shitty. BUT. I do have next weekend to look forward to! New Moon on Friday and then my office Christmas party on Saturday, all with one of my besties!

One of the thing that's really sucked about the second job and being so busy and tired of late is that when I DO get some free time I never seem to get anything done, fandom-wise. I'm losing touch with Supernatural, I haven't been very interested in Melrose Place and I haven't made any icons, really, in weeks. Oy.

But but but, I had time to watch the new DW special! WOO!

Christmas was good, if quiet. Meals have been good, breakfast was good, I got to sleep until 8:30 this morning.

sockherder got me a plush sperm! Sperm! I'll take a picture of that and other things (like my new purse!) later And I got s4 of Doctor Who which jazzed me to no end. Also, I've decided I want to go get a Nintendo DS tomorrow, if I can get my hands on one. I'm excited for these prospects.

Becuse I'm a freak and so sick of being at my work place right now I worked for 8.5 hours today. Now I've come home to watch Doctor Who, have some dinner and a nap and then I'm going back in around 11:30 or 12. I can finish my last 12 hours and be done with the place for three days, instead of just two. I'll get more work done with no one around, as well. So that's a bonus.

Then tomorrow I can sleep in until noon or something, laze around, do laundry, maybe take a walk, post some icons... I can do anything because I've got three effing days away from that place.

My back is better. Thank you to everyone who commented and offered advice and just listened. I think I've just bruised it instead of cracking my tail bone but I had to figure that out on my own since the doctor I saw didn't even LOOK at me. If that's how bad it hurt when it's been, I think, bruised, I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I CRACKED it. The fuck?

There's still quite a bit of tactical maneuvering when I try to get out of bed and I have to take it easy getting into and out of chairs but it's getting better. A railing is going up in the stairs this weekend, with any luck. :D :D The family wasn't going to put one up because of the contractors that MIGHT be coming, if they ever get quotes from the prospective ones, but it could be months before anyone is booked so... RAILINGS ARE NEEDED TO PREVENT INJURY, KTHX.
