I'm still waiting for my car. I have insurance hold ups because I was covered under my mom's insurance for so long that it'll help me here but I"m waiting for the official papers from her provider to prove it. I can't get registered until I get insurance and I can't drive my car off the lot until I have the registration. SO. Cross your fingers for me. I WANT MY CAR. If only to avoid taking the bus with the unwashed masses any longer. And I mean that literally.

I posted more icons last night!

On Fringe: I caught bits of the pilot again last night during the repeat and I'll give it another go on Tuesday. Maybe I wasn't in the best mood when it premiered last week, I'm not sure. I can't say I'll be totally committed to it or that it won't lose me shortly into it because, honestly, I'm better off waiting for JJ Abrams shows to end, finding out what the hell is going on, and then re-watching the show from the beginning knowing what's driving it the whole time.

On the 24 peek last night: I didn't get to see s5 or 6 or whatever the last one to air was. I have it dled and ready to go before the new season starts but wow. The movie that's supposed to bridge the old and new season together looks terrrrrrible. Has Jack Bauer lost his mojo?

But by saying that I fear I jinx myself or the show itself.

I recognize the flaws that the show has. The accents are a bit hokey, Sookie borders on being a bit of a Mary Sue some of the other characters are uneven, and the secondary plot lines are a bit weird so far. But it's only the second episode! With with there being only 12 episodes in the season this show could definitely fall into that place where other shorter-season shows (Skins and Torchwood, for example) that make me wonder what happened to a semi-important plot line from the week before or how such-and-such thing happened so quickly with a minor glossing over.

But that's neither here nor there at this moment.

The UST between Sookie and Bill throughout this episode was delicious. I found myself hoping that they didn't kiss just so it could go on a little longer but at the same time I was so excited when she finally did it.

I don't know what to make of Jason (the brother. That's his name, right?) or Tara. Together or separately. Jason... oh lord. I don't know if I'm supposed to like him or not? I mean, he's dumb, right, so it's clear he's coasted through life on his looks and somewhat charming manner. But on the other hand he KNOWS he's dumb and he's coasted through life on his good looks and somewhat charming manner. I mean, he used his almost-arrest as a way to horn dog his way into that chick's pants!

Some times, thoughout the two episodes, I like Tara. I think the majority of the time I like Tara. But there's something about her that sets her off to me, and I can't quite but my finger on it. It's not her constant fawning over Jason, although if that whole thing languishes on for umpteen episodes it's going to get old really fast.

I love Sookie's grandmother. I've loved her since she played Jo's aunt in Twister. But my, she's aged. Although Twister WAS over a decade ago now (can you BELIEVE it?!)

Then there's the question about that dog that's been hanging around. Does that mean that perhaps Sookie's boss is more than he says he is (and oh MAN does he make me cringe when he asks her to read his mind) or was that just a way to lead the audience (no real answers here if you're aware of spoilers for the future eps, thanks).

I don't have any further thoughts or reactions on Bill or Bill and Sookie in general. I'm kind of biding my time with them. I will say that I'm wicked intrigued about Bill but that I don't think Sookie should trust him 100%. Maybe it's because I've been burned by various shows in the past or maybe I'm paranoid, I don't know, but I think there's something dangerous about him, beyond the obvious. And it has nothing to do with how the episode ended, with those vamps all but surrounding Sookie.

But damn. It's been quite awhile since I've watched a show so intently and wound up yelling at the TV when the episode ended.

Even if the show doesn't turn out to be Emmy-winning fare, it's still been thoroughly enjoyable and awesomely engaging. I heart it so far.

I'm a sugar freak but even I almost horked when I saw all that sugar on the alread-sugared cereal.

Yes, she called you stupid.
