Hey, I just wanted to take a peek at this and then wound up reading it in one go instead of working on something work-related. I have no self-control.
This was a really sweet and lovely story. I liked the slow pace and build, and the twist came as a nice surprise. (I had very briefly toyed with a somewhat similar idea when Jensen moved in, but the way the story progressed made me dismiss it quickly.)
I enjoyed that Jared didn't completely change overnight, but that it took him a few false starts and awkward situations to open up and change - and that even though Jensen helped him on his way to relaxing and reclaiming parts of his life, it was ultimately about Jared himself, and that there were things he had to realize and learn on his own. I think that's what ultimately made the ending you wrote possible and believable - that Jared was not dependent on Jensen, but had truly become in control of his own life again, and was thus able to make his own decisions.
Congratulations on finishing this. I enjoyed it a lot.
