summer_skinI'm watching the Community stop-animation Christmas episode. I dislike things like claymation. They freak me out. So I'm mostly listening, rather than watching. I love this show but not enough to get freaked out by it. :(
I stand by what I said last week when I thought IT was the mid-season finale. Meh. Wasn't as much of a cliffhanger as I expected.
I thought Rose would be dead by the end of the episode and I don't care one way or another if she makes it. From the looks of it she won't but who knows? Maybe someone will be able to come up with something to counteract the bite since the legend is so old and Stefan and Damon didn't even KNOW about it until a few months ago.
I wasn't a huge fan of Rose in this episode. I don't find her to be all that great a character, to be honest, and I don't just mean the actual character. I find her writing is a little lacking. She's supposed to be a really old vampire and, you'd think, from being on the run so long she'd be a bit more hardened or a little more cunning or something. But she's kinda dumb as a doornail. And really sensitive. Which, okay, the dude she's spent the last 500 years on the run with who was her best friend is dead now but come on! You're a VAMPIRE! You're MADE OF DEATH!
Anyway.
Not sure what to think of Bonnie and Bonnie and Luka. I thought about if I like Bonnie or not as I was watching the episode and I decided I must like her somewhat because I keep getting jerked back and forth about her and the way she's written. I don't WANT her to be written badly but there are times her character dips into self-righteous bitch territory that I don't like. If I really didn't like her I'd ignore her and wouldn't give two flying flips about her. Whatever. It'll be nice for the break from her.
I kind of like what Bonnie did to Elena, though, keeping her trapped in her own house. As I said last week, it's different with Elena because she's not running off to try to save the day in some stupid scheme--she has a plan and she's determined to achieve it, without trying to put anyone else in danger. Does it always work? No, but then there wouldn't be a show, either. So.
Poor Jenna. So pretty, so useless. She's just the person who invites the vampires in. ALL. THE. TIME. I DO like Jenna and I want her to FINALLY have a storyline but if they're just going to have her stick around as the person who occasionally disapproves and is generally oblivious to EVERYTHING then maybe she'd be better off dead. But I LIKE HER. And Sara Canning who I DO NOT want out of a job so... I don't know. Make her a damn vampire. Please? Something?
Speaking of, Caroline was awesome in this episode. I don't know if I particularly ship Caroline and Tyler but I like the connection they have now. And I like that she didn't abandon him and that he didn't have to struggle through things on his own.
I'm glad it turned out that Stefan didn't sex it up with Katherine, although it would have been HOT. I was surprised he got out of the tomb so quickly, though. I thought the writers would have kept him in there for at least another episode but this is fine, too. Because it kind of showed that Stefan can be as cold as Katherine and he used her for info.
Um, I think that's all I got. Don't really like the Jules girl but I don't know if that's maybe some risidual OTH trailing off her. She was pretty bad on SVU, though, I'll say that. She was better ON OTH.
Haven't caught the promo for the next episode yet so I'll just say that I'm excited by the prospect of seeing Isobel again and I think Ric was a fun fake drunk, although doesn't he have a job anymore? Does anyone still go to school? Should he be hanging about with teenagers so much and possibly risking his job? Does anyone in this town have a job aside from Matt?! Oh! But how awesome was it to have Damon and Alaric back together again? MORE MORE MORE!

It's a terrible cap but I liked her face. She almost looks like one of those Woll Smoth people.
I don't know if I'm becoming more of a prude as I get older or if it's just a shock to see so much skin on this show because people are generally covered up.
When he talks he's hot but when he's quiet his Menedez brothers-esque hairstyle put me off a bit.
