Now that I'm done school for ever and ever and ever, amen! I have time to READ now. ACTUAL READING! Not just text book shit and internet research! Isn't that exciting? I got to read last summer, too, and damn did I miss it.
SO! I need book recs. I'm not really into sci-fi stuff with made-up worlds and characters with fifteen syllable names. Last summer I got into Kelly Armstrong's stuff (I think that's her name) and I've read almost everything by her. I wouldn't mind recs like hers. I like the supernatural-type stories, obviously, but I'm not going to go out and pay 6$ for a harlequin or something like it, so that's out.
I've dabbled in Laurell K. Hamilton in the past but have long-since stepped off that crazy train, so she's out, and Anne Rice is, as well. I like to read a novel without the specter of a crazy-ass whackadoodle hanging over the story, thanks. I'm not against reading cheesy books, either, as "Twilight" holds a special place in the special hell of my heart.
I'm open to just about anything, though, if you thought it was a good read. Tell me why you liked it and why I should read it!
Also, there have been about 15 billion birthdays of people on my flist this week. Every time I turn around someone else is celebrating and I'm like- But wasn't it just... didn't she... I thought it was someone else's birthday! So to everyone I've missed in the past forever- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I think I'm gonna crank out some icons. Hopefully. :D
