Sorry for the spam, people on my flist.

BUT. Voting is over for the PCA awards! Well, kinda. If you click through there's still two awards for new comedy and new drama. I don't watch any of the comedies so I just picked Worst Week because I've heard good things. And for the drama I picked Fringe because if it could hook me a little bit more it would be a new fandom for me. As it is right now I enjoy watching it when it's on and I look forward to the next episodes but I kind of have to remind myself that it's on Tuesdays.

I want to see this so badly now:

LOVE! Also, Max Brooks' World War Z is being made (or already is?) into a movie so I'm going to go pick up the book tomorrow because it sounds AWESOME. 10 years in the future, post zombie-apocalypse? HELLO! I stumbled across an author named David Wellington when I was looking up the Brooks book. Has anyone ever heard of this guy or read his books, Monster Island, Monster Nation and Monster Planet? If you have, are they worth it?

BWAH is all I have to say about Catherine Hardwicke being fired from the next two planned Twilight movies.

Feeling the urge to do something fannish like make a fanmix or a wallpaper or something. Damn Sunday nights when I have to go to bed soon. :(

I'm super pigging out tonight. I didn't eat out for dinner at all this week (usually I treat myself to lunch once a week while I'm working) so last night I was like- you know what? Pizza! And I've been on the treadmill every day since last Monday. I deserve this. I'm not working out tonight, though, because my legs are bothering me without even being on the treadmill yet so I'm going to kick back, eat some pizza (AND cheesy bread AND cinnastix!) and try to get my Apocalyptathon fic done before midnight. And an icon for [livejournal.com profile] likethegun_lims.

I'm in a really great mood tonight and nothing in particular has made me that way. Perhaps the anticipation of pizza? Perhaps not working as if I had a gun to my head all week? Perhaps being able to stay calm through the few crazies I had this week and come out as the champ at the end? Perhaps tentatively coming up with an idea for my next tattoo? Perhaps it's just a fucking good week, I don't know.

OH OH! I HAD to share this with you guys, though. I was reading through last week's Entertainment Weekly this morning and in the book reviews they did one for some guy's first book called The Gargoyle. I think it's supposed to be some sort of love story at the end of the day, I don't really know. The reviewer gave it a D and I kind of have to agree based on this quoted line from the novel along:

A cheese strange dangled from her mouth to the edge of her left nipple and I wanted to rappel it like a mozzarella commando to storm her lovely breasts.

I SHIT YOU NOT. I totally loled with a bunch of bus people around.

**Has anyone been watching In Plain Sight? We're a week or so behind the states, I think, and I missed the first episode, I THINK, but I'm watching what I THINK is the second episode and it's pretty good! A little hokey and uneven, and the script is pretending to be tough in a PG-13 way (Mary calls a guy's dick a 'wee wee' when she's trying to bully info out if him), but parts of the main character (Mary) remind me a lot of Veronica from VM. It's kind of like what might have happened if season 4 of the show had been set with Veronica in the FBI, only she's a US Marshall working for witness protection.

**Work kind of sucks right now. If I could work from home it would be amazing. The atmosphere is... not plesant.

**"Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls is totally a Bella/Edward anthem. I re-read "Twilight" last week.

**I've finally started editing my Big Bang. What? I've got a week before I post. *shifts nervously*

**I'm reading "Veronika Decides to Die" right now. I bought it before I knew it was being made into a movie starring Sarah Michelle Gellar Prinze. So far the book is very... it rings true in a lot of ways. It's very insightful and written beautifully. It's short but I usually read on the bus or on breaks so I'm only about half way through right now.

**I found out last night that my laptop came with two remotes. First of all, a remote? Really? and second, TWO? One was in the box when I unpacked the thing and the other one was IN my computer that I just found last night when I was poking around. I haven't really figured out all the features this thing has, LOL.

**I cancelled my membership to zip.ca last night. I watched the second Resident Evil last night but I've had it for a couple months. I've had Syriana since JANUARY and another one for awhile, too, so I figured there was no point in continuing to pay. The selection wasn't the best anyway and you had to wait forever for the movies you really wanted.

**I've been updating my Twitter more. I'm Marishna over there, too, but I have no idea how to do those daily Twitter update summary things that get crossposted to LJ automatically (I think it's automatic?). My feed is here, if you're interested. It's pretty boring so far.

Now that I'm done school for ever and ever and ever, amen! I have time to READ now. ACTUAL READING! Not just text book shit and internet research! Isn't that exciting? I got to read last summer, too, and damn did I miss it.

SO! I need book recs. I'm not really into sci-fi stuff with made-up worlds and characters with fifteen syllable names. Last summer I got into Kelly Armstrong's stuff (I think that's her name) and I've read almost everything by her. I wouldn't mind recs like hers. I like the supernatural-type stories, obviously, but I'm not going to go out and pay 6$ for a harlequin or something like it, so that's out.

I've dabbled in Laurell K. Hamilton in the past but have long-since stepped off that crazy train, so she's out, and Anne Rice is, as well. I like to read a novel without the specter of a crazy-ass whackadoodle hanging over the story, thanks. I'm not against reading cheesy books, either, as "Twilight" holds a special place in the special hell of my heart.

I'm open to just about anything, though, if you thought it was a good read. Tell me why you liked it and why I should read it!

Also, there have been about 15 billion birthdays of people on my flist this week. Every time I turn around someone else is celebrating and I'm like- But wasn't it just... didn't she... I thought it was someone else's birthday! So to everyone I've missed in the past forever- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I think I'm gonna crank out some icons. Hopefully. :D

I posted icons! I finally got the requests filled from [livejournal.com profile] momentofglee from October and posted them all with a bunch of other stuff. I have SPN, Smallville, Dexter, Gossip Girl, FNL, OTH, celeb icons... I went to town! If you want to see more you can find the rest here.

I'm also taking requests again, with a few guidelines here. Next to no restrictions on what I'll take a stab at so give me some (HI-RES ONLY) images and I'll go to town! Seriously, go! Request!

For the Canucks: BestBuy.ca is having an AWESOME sale for dvds for Boxing Day Week. They have the first three seasons of Buffy/Angels/Arrested Development/Simpsons/etc on for 12.99$, a bunch of movies that AREN'T SHIT on for 4.99$, Day Watch on for 8.99$... it's amazing. I've got Day Watch, Disturbia and Children of Men sitting in my cart right now with an external HD that I'm not sure I'm getting which is why I haven't bought it all yet. I'm DEF. getting the movies, though. At least the first two.

-----

I watched the Doctor Who Christmas special and this is what I think, sort of. Series 4 spoilers, too. I liked it.. )

I've started my [livejournal.com profile] spn_holidays final gift but I'm having a hard time focusing here at home. I'm used to writing on the computer--MY computer--and it's hard here at home. I'm writing, little by little, in my notebook and hoping it all comes together quickly. Oy.

MORE snow coming in tomorrow. Just as long as I can make it across the country on Friday at once, in one piece, I'm cool with whatever. :|

-----

I am reading Stephen King's "Cell" right now. HI, CREEPY. I loves me some zombies but they scare the ever loving shit out of me and I keep reading it before I go to sleep. *facepalm*
