I can't really say anything about today that hasn't already been said.
People on my Big Bang/Writing filter: I posted more in-depth plot points and summaries here. Comments or suggestions would be appreciated or even just some feedback. I'm trying this new open thing with my writing to see if it'll make me write more or... at all. *shrugs*
I still have Sweet Charity icons to do that were due earlier but I haven't been able to sit down at the computer to make anything without wanting to hit PS or feel like I'm falling asleep so I'm hoping to get some time, sweet time, this weekend. Hopefully. LONG WEEKEND WOO!
This episode didn't do much for me. There were moments within that I found awesome and hysterical but as far as the mystery of the week goes I was kinda pretty damn bored.
Finding out that Sam was a magic geek was fun, though. And the homoeroticism was awesome. Between sending Dean to an S&M dungeon (
gwentastic said Dean's safe word was 'funkytown') and the young!old guy winking at Sam, it was pretty gaytastic. Someone write some codas? Please? I mean, Dean did seem to spend more than a bit of time at the Chief's place.
I really enjoyed Sam's interaction with Ruby at the beginning. I was half expecting some sort of naughty touching moment. I was hoping, anyway. New!Ruby is growing on me, slowly, although the actresses' mouth... it's weird. ANYWAY.
Yeah, the beginning and the end were the best for me. The parts in the middle didn't keep me entertained. Although I like Barry Bostwick and felt really bad for him. He was adorablepants. A sad adorablepants at times, but adorable nonetheless.
Um, I'm not even sure what else to say. I seriously was so easily distracted during the plotty bits that when the big reveal happened I was like- who the hell is that? to Gwen. I had no idea. And then she had to spend about five minutes explaining how many old guys there were.
After last week's episode that unsettled me so this week just didn't have the same punch. But I love that Sam agreed to go back with Ruby and continue doing his thing. I can't wait to see where it's going to go.
And that's that, I think.
Oh. I meant to bring up something about how Ruby is trying to get Sam to admit that he likes sending the demons back to hell with his mind. This after Dean admitted that he got off on taking people's souls in hell. I'm sure there's some sort of meta or whatnot I could say about that parallel but right now I'm too tired to make more of a connection than that.

* The biggie- NO HOTLINKING. Don't be a bastard and make me replace my sample caps with a bright and gaudy "I'm a thief, ask me how!" message.

Date: 2009-01-23 08:37 am (UTC)Barry Bostwick's speech at the end was a bit heavy-handed, but it still made me worry about what lies ahead for the boys. One thing I thought was cool was that young Charlie was played by Michael Rubenstein, who is the real-life son of the actor who played old Charlie, John Rubenstein. Michael's acting name is Michael Weston, because there was already an actor named Michael Rubenstein when he started out, but for this episode he used his real name, to be the same as his dad. Awww.

When the younger Charlie appeared, I was like, 'when the heck did we even meet this guy?'
So I'm glad I wasn't the only one?
Anyways thanks for such great caps!
