summer_skinWork this week makes me want to scratch people's eyes out, then do the macarena on them. I don't know how I knew the week was going to be the shits at the start but I did somehow and it's dragged on forever. That tomorrow is Friday is a miracle.
I got some goodish news about my accident.., *waves hands* stuff. My lawyer has decided to pursue the two claims seperately, so I could see a payout from the first one as early as next week. And it's going to be more than I expected so I'm kinda jazzed. I mean, it sucks that I'm getting money as a result of being rear ended and all but it's money that I could really use right now. The second (and far worse) accident probably won't be resolved for quiet a while longer. I'm still in quite a bit of pain and taking pain killers almost every day. So. I'm happy at least one of them is being put to rest. That's that.
I bought my plane ticket home for next month. I haven't bought the return yet, though, because the tickets were a bit too pricey (got the one there on wicked seat sale) and my credit card needs a bit of recovery first (which is why the money from the accident settlement is coming JUST IN TIME).

Question. is there a place (community or otherwise) to get really great hires promos and images from the show and cast? I've been spoiled by other shows (like SPN) with the comms and sites that provide photoshoots and episode stills in freakish sizes. A lot of the stuff I've come across so far has been medium res, at best. If anyone knows of anywhere I could get nice sized images that would be great. PM me if it's on the DL.
I don't have too much to say about the eps from last week and this. I've enjoyed them, for sure. And last week's episode totally had bombshells galore in it.
One thing that kinda bugged me a bit from last week (more in a "wtf, this is funny" kind of way, rather than "this irriates the piss out of me"). After Stefan revealed the Elena had been adopted and her world is rocked he's all, "It doesn't matter, you're still the girl I love." I know it's referring to the whole thing where Elena was wondering what her connection to Katherine was and why Stefan was interested her and all but the way he posed that statemet would have made me gone, "I don't care if you love me, you doof, I'm fucking adopted" had it been aimed at me. I just rolled my eyes and chortled a bit at that.
Why is it that in TV and movies the doors at school are always locked with chains and padlocks. That seems like an awful lot of work to me. Can't these schools just afford, I don't know, door locks? I always seem to suspend my belief in reality that some doors are just plain locked, as opposed to chained and padlocked, so I promise I won't laugh if doors are just locked in the future. *crosses heart*
I'm not really 'ship-driven with this show. I thought when Matt finally grew some balls and kissed Caroline it was sweet, so I don't mind them. There are moments that I don't mind Elena and Stefan but overall I find them very boring. I don't feel any desire to see Elena and Damon to have an illicit affair, however, not am I all too hot and bothered by the idea of Stefan and Damon being together, although I wouldn't mind trying to find some sort of historical fic with them playing coy with each other.
I've been so out of the "fandom" aspect of fandom lately I wonder how I'm going to get back into the swing of things with it.
I dont' have a lot of thoughts on this show yet, so I don't have too much to say on the ep. I think it would help if I went back and rewatched the eps I didn't pay much attention to or missed all together, especially the flashbacks.
I don't really like Anna too much. There's something about the way the actress smiles or the tone of her voice, I don't know. There's always a character on every show that I have an insignificant issue like this, it seems.
I kind of missed Caroline in this episode. And I'd really like to see Meredith introduced into the show. Perhaps she could be the redhead that Bonnie was in the books. Who I'd kinda like to see in that role (if they ever cast it) is someone a bit badass, maybe someone who WAS friends with Elena and Caroline and Bonnie back in the day but returns to town from, like, bording school or taking care of a sick relative or something but isn't friendly with them anymore. I dunno. Just talking out of my ass right now.
ANYWAY. I'm looking forward to seeing the next flashback. I kind of want to re-read the books again but I'm reluctant at this point since the storyline on the show has departed so much from the original storyline. Who knows if/what they'll take from them again.
Randomness: Ian reminds me of Gale Harold. Which is weird. And I can't tell if I'm attracted to him because of that or put off.
Nina's hair looks awesome done up as Katherine.
Damon back in 1863 reminds me of a less lame William from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

111 and 112 were capped okay but I tried to get a conversion programme for the caps that didn't turn out to work that well. I went back to the one I had on my old computer, I just didn't want it this time because it was bigger than I needed. But this one does a far better job. I might, someday, go back to reconvert the caps from 111 and 112 but for now they'll have to stay in huge file sizes. Lame.

I really liked this scene! I like Jenna in general. This scene is kind of like the one between Spike and Joyce on Buffy. And no, I'm not going to compare the two shows all the time, but the comparison just popped into my head.

Damon/Jeremy friend fic? Perhaps Damon feels an affiniation with Jeremy after having altered his memory? Has the fic part of this fandom really branched out yet? Where can one find the fic comms? Bueller?
Kinda jazzed to see the Elena/Katherine interaction when shit finally gets real. Although Elena's not so much badass right now, as just kinda spoiled and high on her own "immortality". I'd like to see some real edge to her.
Paul Wesley's body is a bit misleading. His MASSIVE SQUARE JAW and sticky-uppy hair add a lot of girth and weight to him, plus he's jacked in the front but when you get a look at his whole midsection you can see how skinny he really is.
That's some damn-near Bart Simpson hair right there.
