IMDB HAS KATIE FUCKING CASSIDY LISTED AS MEREDITH FOR 2.01 OF THE VAMPIRE DIARIES.

Okay.

If it's true, I'll shit. Happily.

If it's not (and it probably isn't) at least I had an evening of being insanely happy.

I mean, on the one hand it's not like Melrose Place is going to be renewed, right? She also seems to have a hardon for staying with the CW. She fits well there, honestly, at least until she gets a wider range of movies and roles that allow her to move on without floundering and slinking back to TV. And I think she could do great things on TVD, if given the right writing. I mean, Meredith was in the books and I'm sure all fans of those have been wodering where the hell Meredith's been. Although things couldn't happen the way they did in the books now with her hooking up with Alaric (well, not that it COULDN'T) since he's trying to make nice with Jenna (but let's face it, the aunt in the books wasn't around Elena and Jeremy's age, there WASN'T a Jeremy in the books and Bonnie was supposed to be a chubby redhead so it's not like they can't write things away but still, I like Alaric and Jenna together) so whatever.

BUT. On the OTHER hand. Why would this be announced on IMDB? Why is casting being announced period? They just finished filming the first season literally a few days ago so I doubt the writers or anyone involved has gone so far as to set out plot and things into second season that they're casting yet. Also, MP hasn't officially been cancelled yet (but it will be, let's not kid ourselves here) so who knows if it's wise of anyone involved to be throwing around a new role just yet. Although, Sophia Bush is cast in a pilot should OTH not get picked up (another one that should be put to bed, if ONLY to allow her to move on), so it could very well go down that way with her casting being announced on the provision that MP not be renewed.

Katie's also in Budapest right now so lord knows if she could Tweet about it if she DID have a role on TVD. Who knows if her reception is reliable there.

So yeah. Excited if it's true, but totally ready to shuffle it aside when it's likely proven to be false. As someone on Tumblr said, any moron with a Pro IMDB account can edit details on someone's page.

Oh, yeah. I have a Tumblr. I've had it three years today, actually, but it's only been in the past month or so that I've actually started using it now that a lot of other people are, as well. OH! My mom won a blu-ray set of the new Lord of the Rings release and since she doesn't have a BRD player she sent them to me! I watched the first one tonight, first time in a while. I've forgotten how long those movies are. Oy.
