summer_skinOne more day until the weekend! I have no plans but it's just nice to not be at work. And then next week is busy, busy for me! Monday I have an independant medical assessment so my stupid insurance company can see if they need to pay for more physio (newsflash! They do!), Tuesday I'm out of town, Wednesday I go to the therapist and then Pauly Shore, Thursday is food day at work (it's potluck and we eat all day long) and Friday I'm going out for dinner and drinks with the other girls in my department & some guys from one of the funeral homes (sounds weirder than it is). Although if dinner falls through I want to go see The Town! Jeremy Renner! Marry me!
The more I think about it, the more I think I liked last night's episode of Hellcats. I think I'll watch it again this weekend just to try and get familiar with the character names. I've watched entire seasons of shows before and only learned half the characters names cause I'm just that good.
I've also started watching Grandma's House and have laughed my ass off. I usually don't even like British comedies, so that's fun.
Well. That was something.
One of these days I'm going to do a picspam comparing Damon to Brian Kinney because the way Ian and Gale both played their characters is so similar in terms of mannerisms and expressions. It's crazy.
Katherine is so petulant. She's an eternal 14 year old girl. But she's got bitchin' hair. I'm not too in love with the way Elena usually styles it but those huge loose curls on Katherine are gorgeous. Can we also mention how awesome Nina is with portraying both of the characters?
For me the biggest shock of the episode was Damon killing Jeremy. I'd already expected he wouldn't change because I'd heard that who you thought wouldn't be changed but someone else would be vamped (although I didn't expect it in THIS episode!) but when Damon killed him and in the moments before Elena discovered the ring I was like, "Awww, damn. Just when his character could maybe do something cooler than be a depressed stoner kid!" When Jeremy confronted John before he left I kind of expected Jeremy to demand the ring because it was his dad's. Maybe he did, we just didn't see it. Or maybe John just has more of a heart than expected.
I'm glad that the relationships have been shaken up and that Elena SAYS she hates Damon right now. As much as I like seeing their more banter-y, antagonistic relationship that works but can get boring, now there's more chance for them to, perhaps, be caught in a situation where their issues come to a heated head and stuff of a true kissing nature happens. Just for the hotness. It's not like a long-lasting relationship would come of that.
I'm still trying to sort all this out, really. I don't know what to think about Caroline becoming a vampire. I don't know if I like the idea or not. I'm not against it, I don't think, but I wonder how it'll affect her demeanor and what it's going to mean for everyone else involved. I mean, at this point there's really only Matt and Jenna without deep, dark secrets or knowledge of them. Maybe they can go hook up or something, LOL.
For a first episode of the season I'm super impressed. I'm not overly excited for the werewolf storyline, to be honest, and I don't know if that's because they didn't have that big a presence in the books so I don't know what to expect or if I just don't care about that aspect, deep down. Tyler's not one of my favourite characters, although if the writers showed more development between Tyler and Jeremy I might be more inclined to come around to his side. They just haven't focused enough on him for me to care too much, I guess.
Yay for show!
